Water crews were hard at work Wednesday morning repairing the broken water main . Coronado police told FOX 5 the flooding was responsible for two traffic accidents.
"As we were trying to close roadway, we ended up with a couple of minor traffic accidents as a result of the flooding," said Coronado Police Capt. Jesus Ochoa.
Ochoa said a cyclist was injured after the man's bicycle hit some standing water.
Crews worked through the night on the 16-inch cast iron pipe that is said to be more than 100 years old. Repairs were expected to continue throughout Wednesday morning.
Water service was not disrupted elsewhere in Coronado or on North Island. The only area without water was Fiddler's Cove and Marina.
