Motorcyclist who killed Golden Hill man still unknown year later

Homicide detectives investigate a shooting in Golden Hill.

SAN DIEGO — A reward of up to $1,000 was offered for information leading to the arrest of whoever shot and killed a 41-year-old man near his Golden Hill home one year ago Thursday.

Vaafuti Togiailua was shot by an unidentified man on a motorcycle while getting into his car in the 900 block of 26th Street near Broadway around 6:40 a.m. Nov. 5, 2014, according to San Diego police and Crime Stoppers. Togiailua died in a hospital four days later.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.
