Police investigate fatality on freeway off-ramp

SAN DIEGO — A fatality was reported Thursday night on an Interstate 5 off-ramp in San Diego, but police said there was no crash.

Officers and firefighters responded to a medical aid call just before 7 p.m. to the Via de San Ysidro off-ramp from the northbound side of the interstate, according to the California Highway Patrol.

There was no crash, but details about the medical aid call were not immediately available, Officer Benjamin Newton of the San Diego Police Department said.
