Man arrested on child porn charges

SAN DIEGO — A Chula Vista man was in federal lockup Friday for allegedly possessing hundreds of child-pornography images.

Federal agents took 24-year-old Kevin Arce into custody without incident in Kearny Mesa late Thursday morning, according to the FBI.

The arrest culminated months of investigation, officials said. In January, acting on information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, authorities served a search warrant at Arce’s home and allegedly found about 1,850 images child-pornography images on computer equipment used by the suspect.

Arce was booked into the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown San Diego to await his initial appearance before a federal judge.
