San Diegans celebrate ‘Back to the Future’ Day

SAN DIEGO - The real "Back to the Future" day has finally arrived and San Diegans are celebrating it with various events Wednesday evening.

"Back to the Future II," shot and released in 1989, sees Marty McFly travel to October 21st, 2015 to save his children.

Back to the Future science party - Fleet Night of Science: Back to the Fleet-ure 

We celebrate the date with a time travel themed, after-hours science party for chic geeks 21+. You get the science center all to yourself (no kids allowed!), sip cocktails, enjoy edibles, listen to music and get your geek on with science talks, experiments, and other delightfully nerdy experiences. Tickets are available at or at the Fleet ticket counter. 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  

The Pearl goes Back to the Future - Dive-In Viewing Party

The future is here if you’re Doc Brown and Marty McFly. Don’t miss the ‘Dive-In’ viewing of the sequel starting at 8 p.m. at The Pearl Hotel at 1410 Rosecrans.  Movie is free to attend. If you are looking to indulge in some food and drink, give us a ring for reservations at 619.226.6100. Chairs around the pool and bar seating are first come, first serve. If you’re feeling adventurous there is always open seating in our heated salt-water pool!

TABLED: Whistlestop Bar to host actor's reenactment of Back to the Future

TABLED is a new series that showcases some of San Diego's best comics, performing a live "dramatic" reading of your favorite action movie screenplays with amazing audio/visual accompaniment. TABLED returns to Whistle Stop Bar in South Park on October 21st 2015 with a reading of Back to the Future.  The reading starts at  8 p.m.
