SAN DIEGO - Firefighters made quick work of a fire that started in a San Carlos garage Wednesday morning.

The San Diego Fire Department responded to the fire at 8605 Dent Drive at 3:27 a.m. and knocked it down less than 20 minutes later. No one was hurt and flames were contained to the garage.

The residents of the home were able to go back inside as the home itself wasn't damaged. Several items and a vehicle parked inside the garage were damaged.

The fire, which started near a hot water heater in the garage and was ruled an accident, caused $25,000 in damage to the home, according to San Diego Fire Battalion Chief Dave Pillkerton.
