Thieves break open 2 ATMs in same shopping center

SAN DIEGO – Cleanup was underway at two South Bay businesses after thieves smashed glass doors and ripped out two  ATMs early Tuesday morning, the San Diego Police Department said.

A Chase Bank ATM was dragged out of a CVS Pharmacy at 3404 Palm Avenue around 3 a.m.,  police said. The ATM was torn open. pillaged and left in the parking lot.

A second ATM was ripped from The Check Cashing Place just 100 feet away. The front windows of both businesses were shattered during the robbery.

Police said they believed three or four men took part in the robberies, but they could not provide any suspect descriptions.
