HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - Newly released surveillance video shows the moments when a school bus full of children careened off of a roadway and into a pond in Florida.

One of the videos shows the bus driving towards the guard building.  The second camera shows the bus drive by and splash into the water.

Sonia Sadasivam, 7, was aboard the bus when it crashed Thursday afternoon.

"It started bumping up and down and it was really scary," she said. "Then, we hit the side of a tree and the windows broke and then we were falling in different seats and water came in."

Records show the bus has been operating for more than 20 years and the driver was hired a few days prior to the crash, KPLR reported.

School district officials contend the aging fleet of buses is safe and the driver was properly trained.

Sonia's father Krishna Sadasivam finds the entire situation upsetting.

"My concern is why are we having an old bus? Why do we have inconsistent drivers?" he said "Who's running the shop here?"

The school district said the bus driver has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of its investigation.
