Vandal shoots parked cars in La Mesa

LA MESA, Calif. – Police were searching for a vandal who shot at multiple parked cars on a residential street in La Mesa Thursday night.

Several people called 911 to report hearing gunshots  in the 4400 block of Parks Avenue just after 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to La Mesa police Sgt. Jim Huggins. Investigating officers found three cars had been damaged by bullets.

La Mesa police blocked off Parks Avenue in both directions during the investigation, but the street was reopened Thursday morning.

No one was hurt. Police were unable to provide a good description of the suspect or a possible motive for the shooting.
