DUI Crackdown

VISTA, Calif. – Three motorists were arrested for suspicion of drunken driving during a sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint in Vista, a sheriff’s sergeant said Sunday.

Twenty-seven citations were issued during the checkpoint in the 1000 block of East Vista Way, which began at 6 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Hernan Gonzalez of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in a news statement.

Gonzalez did not release the time the checkpoint concluded.

Seventeen unlicensed drivers were cited during the checkpoint, and a man was cited for allowing an unlicensed motorist to drive his vehicle, Gonzalez said.
