SAN DIEGO - A woman was recovering Tuesday after being shocked with a stun gun and robbed on the street in the Southcrest neighborhood, according to San Diego police.

The woman was walking along the 4100 block of National Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. when a white PT Cruiser pulled up, police said. Two men and a woman jumped out and attacked the woman. One  shocked her with a stun gun and yanked away her purse, breaking the strap.

The three attackers drove off, police said. The frightened woman ran down the street, leaving one of her sandals and her broken purse strap at the scene. She knocked on the door of an apartment at 4180 National Avenue and used the resident's phone to call police.

The woman told police she did not get a good look at her attackers. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
