OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Authorities Monday released the name of a 27-year-old man found shot to death over the weekend in a neighborhood just south of Camp Pendleton.

Officers responding to a report of gunfire found Timothy Harris, address unknown, mortally wounded in the 500 block of Gold Drive in Oceanside shortly before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The motive for the slaying and the killer’s identify remain unknown, Lt. Leonard Cosby said.

“Detectives are following up on several leads and interviewing potential witnesses,” the lieutenant said.
