BONITA, Calif. -- Sweetwater Valley Little League committed 5 errors and was sent to the losers' bracket at the Little League World Series Sunday, as the team from Bonita was defeated by the Texas team.

West Pearland Little League of Texas beat the Bonita squad 8-4 in the nationally-telecast game. It was the first time the all-stars were defeated in the 18 games they've played.

The starting pitcher for Pearland halted Bonita's high-powered offense to just one run on four hits in the first four innings. Bonita's bats did not wake up until the bottom half of the sixth, when a three-run homer made a small dent in the deficit.

Sweetwater Valley will play Cranston Western, from Rhode Island, at 5 p.m. Monday.
