4 hurt in crash involving semi-truck
SAN DIEGO — Two people were critically injured in a multiple-vehicle crash on the Interstate 805 north onramp to the eastbound 54 Freeway in Chula Vista Saturday.
About 1 p.m., a big rig rear-ended a smaller pickup truck, which caused the smaller vehicle to hit two other cars, Batallion Chief Sean Lowry of the Chula Vista Fire Department said.
California Highway Patrol issued a Sigalert and shut down the onramp for a few hours.
According to Lowry, two other people suffered minor injuries.
All four victims were taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, he said.
