SAN DIEGO — A man was hit by a car as he lay in the street after losing control of his vehicle near Qualcomm Stadium on Friday, police said Saturday.

The 34-year-old man’s vehicle traveled north and spun out in the 5300 block of Fairmount Avenue at 8:57 p.m., police said. He exited his vehicle and collapsed face down on the pavement of the left lane.

A vehicle stopped in front of him and drove away. This prevented another driver from seeing him in the street and she ran him over, police said.

The man suffered serious injuries to his chest.

The San Diego Police Department said the woman was not driving drunk but they were not sure about the man.
