National City police dogs get bulletproof vests

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. -- Police department officials unveiled Tuesday a set of custom-made protective ballistic vests for their service dogs.

Local Kiwanis, Lions and Rotarians procured money to buy the equipment for the canines via a fund-raising event last winter.
