SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — A fire moving at a “rapid rate” burned 10 acres Saturday and forced a partial closure of the northbound 15 Freeway, causing heavy traffic to be expected in the Cajon Pass, according to the San Bernardino National Forest.

Multiple lanes on the northbound 15 at State Route 138 were closed, San Bernardino County Fire Department officials tweeted around 1:30 p.m, KTLA reported.

Motorists should expect heavy traffic due to the so-called Scales Fire, the forest service stated.

Firefighters were making “good progress,” the forest service tweeted around 1:45 p.m.
