ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Crews are working Saturday to put out a brush fire at Kit Carson Park in Escondido.

The fire started at about 2:50 p.m. for unknown reasons.

Out of an abundance of caution due to the dry conditions, the Escondido Fire Department evacuated the park while crews work to extinguish the blaze. No homes have been evacuated.

By 4:05 p.m., the fire had grown to a half-acre.
