SAN DIEGO — The Metro Arson Strike Team investigated Friday reports of a suspicious package at a building in Kearny Mesa.

The object at the San Diego Military Entrance Processing Station in the 4100 block of Ruffin Road, near Sky Park Court, turned out to be an ordinary piece of mail, according to a fire department spokesman.

A worker at the center made an emergency call out of an abundance of caution because the name on the box was unfamiliar.

No road closures or evacuations were enforced, according to San Diego police.
