BONITA, Calif. — Arson investigators made an arrest in connection with a series of small suspicious vegetation fires that erupted last spring in the area of Sweetwater County Park.

Sheriff’s personnel took 44-year-old Edwin Fisk into custody Wednesday shortly before 10:30 a.m. in Bonita, where the fires burned between April 29 and May 24, Deputy Arnold Van Lingen said.

Fisk allegedly set several fires along a creek bed off Willow Street and another one in a nearby brushy area behind a liquor store in the 4200 block of Bonita Road. No structural damage was reported.

Van Lingen declined to disclose what led detectives to identify Fisk as the alleged perpetrator.

Fisk was booked into San Diego Central Jail and was being held on $75,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
