Teen gets stabbed by girlfriend’s alleged stalker at mall

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — A 21-year-old man was in custody Tuesday of suspicion of stalking a young woman and stabbing her boyfriend, according to National City police.

The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, allegedly stalked and harassed the 19-year-old Spring Valley woman, who works at the Plaza Bonita Mall, for about two weeks, according to a National City police statement.

The woman’s 17-year-old boyfriend confronted the suspect at the mall shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday and the two began fighting, according to police, who said the teen was stabbed twice during the altercation.

The unidentified boyfriend was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, but police did not provide a condition report.

The suspect was also injured and was treated at Paradise Valley Hospital before being booked into jail on suspicion of stalking and assault with a deadly weapon.ac
