SAN DIEGO -- If you're going to do Comic-Con right, you have to get a costume.

FOX 5 went to Buffalo Breath in Old Town to come up with the best ideas for everything from villains to super heroes to the granddaddy of them all: Star Wars characters.

" We are late to the game so are just creating our own," said two girls who were debating black or red eye masks to go with their red caps.

A 40-something father of two was buying makeup for his daughter, who is sewing costumes for the whole family.

"I don't normally have a beard. I grew it out for Comic-Con," he said.

He said attending Comic-Con in costume should be on everyone's bucket list.

Comic-Con kicks off Wednesday with Preview Night.
