SACRAMENTO — State officials have called a Flex Alert and are asking for all Californians to help conserve electricity.

The California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO) is declaring the Flex Alert. Because of high temperatures, energy demand is expected to be high and businesses and residents are being asked to reduce energy use between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. both days.

Please turn off unnecessary home and workplace lights and adjust thermostats to 78 degrees or higher.
