SAN DIEGO – A man was stabbed to death in downtown San Diego early Sunday morning, police said.
The victim, 43, called San Diego police and said that he had been stabbed in his chest at the 400 block of Broadway at 3:15 a.m. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Officers arrived quickly and arrested the suspect, identified as 64-year-old Santiago Gonzalez Abraham, Jr. He was booked into San Diego County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Wednesday, Lt. Mike Hastings said.
The details of Abraham’s bail were not released.
An active crime scene remained on Broadway, between Fourth and Fifth streets just east of Horton Plaza, into the late morning.
