KEARNY MESA, Calif. — Five years after the San Diego County Clerk’s office closed their doors to Saturday service, those wishing to say “I do” can for the first time.

“We are always looking for better ways to serve the public,” said Ernie Dronenburg. “This has been a long time coming and a goal of mine since I took office.”

Couples wishing to obtain a marriage license and be married will be able to do so every third Saturday of the month. The Clerk’s Office closed its doors to Saturday Services in 2009 due to budgetary constraints. With the improved economy, they are reinstating Saturday services to provide couples with more options and convenience.

The Kearny Mesa office at 9225 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for marriage licenses and civil ceremonies by appointment only. There will also be limited services available, including: obtaining birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as registering Fictitious Business Name filings. Appointments can be made by calling 619-237-0502.
