OCEANSIDE, Calif. - A couple of Oceanside neighborhoods have been plagued by a string of overnight vehicle burglaries, police said.

In the last few weeks, vehicles parked on the street and in designated car ports at nearby apartment complexes have been broken into, investigators said. The areas being targeted include the 3600 block of Barnard Dr. and the 2300 block of Paseo De Laura.

The vehicles that were burglarized were left unlocked, and the personal items taken included cell phones, purses and briefcases.

Oceanside police said people should never leave valuables in their car. However, they want to remind people to always make sure car doors and windows are locked and secure. They also say that any personal items left in the vehicle should be hidden out of sight.

At this point there are no suspects or any leads. If you have any information on these thefts, you are urged to call Oceanside Police at 760-435-4911.
