SAN DIEGO — A man in his 30s was killed as his pickup truck flew off Interstate 8 in El Cajon, and the Medical Examiner’s Office Sunday was working to identify him and tell his family.

The victim of the fiery crash was a white man in his 30s, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.

He drove his Toyota Tundra east around 11 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 8. For unknown reasons, he lost control and it hit a raised curb at the El Cajon Boulevard exit.

The truck rolled down an embankment into surrounding trees, caught fire and stopped on its hood.

CHP said firefighters found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The man’s burned body was found inside.
