VISTA, Calif. — Authorities released the name Tuesday of a 26-year-old man who was killed in a car crash at a Vista intersection.

Sean Seward of Carlsbad was heading east on Taylor Street when his Toyota Tundra collided with a southbound Honda CRV at East Vista Way and overturned about 12:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

Seward, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from his truck and died at the scene of the accident, the California Highway Patrol reported. A passenger in his truck suffered minor trauma, and the two occupants of the SUV were treated for injuries of undisclosed severity.

Preliminary evidence suggested that Seward caused the collision by failing to yield for a stop sign at the intersection, CHP Sgt. Hernan Gonzalez said.
