CVS To Stop Selling Cigarettes

SANTEE, Calif. — An East County woman was jailed Thursday on suspicion of pulling a gun on a clerk at a drugstore near her home and stealing prescription painkillers.

Deputies and members of a fugitive task force arrested 28-year-old Nataley Ann Gutierrez at her residence on Brightwood Lane in Santee late this morning, according to sheriff’s officials.

About 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Gutierrez allegedly confronted a pharmacy worker at a CVS store in the 9700 block of Mission Gorge Road, displayed a silver-and-black pistol and stole several Percocet pills, Detective Sgt. Joel Stranger said.

A Crime Stoppers bulletin featuring surveillance-camera images of the robber generated tips that helped authorities identify Gutierrez as the suspected perpetrator, according to Stranger. During a search of her home, investigators found a handgun believed to have been used in the holdup, the sergeant said.

Gutierrez was booked into the Las Colinas women’s jail on suspicion of armed robbery. She was being held on $100,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Monday afternoon.
