Woman seriously injured after running in front of car

SAN DIEGO — A 60-year-old woman struck by a car while attempting to dash across an Oak Park-area street was hospitalized Friday with serious injuries, police said.

The woman was ran from the raised median onto southbound College Avenue at Streamview Drive and into the path of an Infiniti sedan shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said. The driver crossed into the intersection on a green light.

The woman suffered fractures to both legs in the crash, Heims said. She was taken to a hospital to be treated for the non-life-threatening injuries.
