Jack-knifed big-rig bursts into flames

WILDOMAR, Calif. – A truck carrying frozen yogurt mix jack-knifed and burst into flames Monday morning on southbound Interstate 15 in Riverside County, the CHP said.

The truck driver described hearing a loud pop just before the accident, which happened just before 12:30 a.m. Monday on I-15 near Bundy Canyon Road. The truck suddenly veered to the right and slammed into the guardrail before coming to a stop a short distance later.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The truck caught fire and the cab and a third of the trailer were destroyed by the blaze, according to Cal Fire.

The trailer was carrying Dannon YoCream frozen yogurt mix. No one was hurt in the crash.
