ESCONDIDO, Calif. – A man was killed Thursday night after flipping his sports car in Escondido, police said.

Eric Anderson, 33, was driving his silver Nissan 350Z on Via Rancho Parkway near Camino del Postigo around 10:10 p.m. Thursday when he lost control. The car skidded on its side before slamming into a concrete wall and flipping onto its roof.

“It appears Anderson lost control of the vehicle and hit the retaining wall while in a sideways uncontrolled skid, with the impact causing the car to flip onto the roof,” Escondido police Lt. Justin Murphy said.

Anderson was treated for serious head injuries and taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he died. Police believe he was speeding, but do not believe alcohol was a factor.
