SAN DIEGO – A passing  driver pulled over to help a woman after she was thrown from her car during a crash in Mission Bay, police said.

The crash happened at West Mission Bay Drive and Ingraham Street at 12:18 a.m. Monday,  police said. The woman was driving east on West Mission Bay Drive when she lost control of her car. It flipped, and she was partially thrown out of the car.

Another driver witnessed the car launch into the air. She pulled over and ran up to see if she could help. She held the victim’s hand and talked to her as paramedics made their way to the accident.

Police were investigating to determine if the woman was wearing her seat belt when she crashed. She was taken to UCSD hospital with minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
