SAN DIEGO -- A 1-year-old boy, who was the subject of a statewide Amber Alert, has been found safe Monday night in Tijuana, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Jayden Nathaniel Santiago, was taken by his father after he allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend at her San Pedro Home around 1:30 a.m.

Giovanny Santiago-Enriquez, 37,  entered his ex-girlfriend's home  in the 500 block of West 15th Street.  He got in  through an unlocked front door, went into her bedroom and stabbed her new boyfriend several times, the LAPD reported.

The victim was seriously injured.

The former girlfriend suffered minor injuries trying to prevent Santiago- Enriquez from stabbing her boyfriend.

He then fled, throwing the knife he had used on the boyfriend out of his car before fleeing, police said.

Santiago-Enriquez next went to his home in Long Beach before fleeing with his son, police said.  Santiago-Enriquez and his ex-girlfriend shared custody of the child.
