Body found in swimming pool at downtown apartments

SAN DIEGO – Police were called to a downtown apartment complex Friday morning after a man’s body was discovered in the swimming pool.

The body was reported at 7:10 a.m. in a pool at the AVA Cortez Hill at 1399 9th Ave., police said.

Investigators said the drowning appeared to be accidental and foul play was not suspected.

The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
