Crews work to fix Pacific Beach water main

San Diego – A water main break left several homes in Pacific Beach without water Friday morning, according to the San Diego water authority.

Crews received a call around midnight of flooding on Ingraham Street between Diamond Street and Missouri Street.

Further investigation revealed a broken 10-inch cast iron pipe, which carries water to surrounding homes. One block remained shutdown Friday morning.

San Diego water could not make estimate exactly how many homes were without water, but several blocks were affected. Crews dug a large hole in the middle of Ingraham Street as repair the break, a process likely to last throughout Friday morning.

Commuters are advised to avoid Ingraham Street until repairs are finished.

    I spoke to a very nice lady in the water department when this happened. I’m really happy with the response time. But regardless, no one there knew what color that dress was either.
