TEXAS COUNTY, Mo. – Nine people are dead, including the gunman, after shootings in south-central Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Jeff Kinder addressed the media at a news conference Friday morning at the Texas County Justice Center. Around 10:15p.m. Thursday night, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance with a disturbance involving a weapon at a residence in Tyrone, Missouri.  A juvenile female caller said she was in the residence when she heard gun shots. The girl immediately fled to a neighbor’s house to call 911. Upon arrival, police found two people dead.

The injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital.
