Fire at senior living facility displaces 25 residents
SAN DIEGO — A fire erupted Friday inside a senior living facility in downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood, displacing 25 residents and injuring at least one person who was rescued from the multi-story building, authorities said.
The fire at the Potiker Family Senior Residence at 525 14th St. was reported just before 8:30 a.m. and knocked down about 20 minutes later, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The cause was under investigation.
The American Red Cross was assisting the 25 displaced residents, the fire department said.
