San Diego golf legend Billy Casper is being remembering for a long, successful career, and his commitment to family.

At the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, PGA officials asked for a moment of silence to remember Casper. He died Saturday at his home in Utah.

Born in San Diego, his resume includes 51 PGA Tour wins, but his personal life came first, say friends. Casper was the father of 11 children and grandfather to many more. He also enjoyed giving back to the community.

“He was such a giver,” said fellow PGA golf legend Lee Elder.
