Police Line Crime Tape Night

SAN DIEGO – A 23-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man in the head while trying to break up a fight at a bus stop.

The stabbing was reported at 10:49 p.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of University Avenue, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

Emanual Frederick, a homeless man, was trying to stop a fight between a 25-year-old and a 19-year-old woman, but the situation escalated and Frederick pulled out a knife and stabbed the older man above his left eye, Delimitros said in a statement.

Frederick was arrested and  booked on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon. He was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

The victim’s wound was not life-threatening, Delimitros added.
