SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — Two Los Angeles-area high school teachers were arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with students at San Clemente State Beach last fall, KTLA reported.
Melody Lippert, 38, and Michelle Ghirelli, 30, met up with a group of students from the West Covina high school in November. Authorities said Lippert provided alcohol to the students before having some sort of sexual relationship with one of them.
Several weeks later, Lippert planned an overnight camping trip at the same beach involving Ghirelli and several of the students who attended the previous one. Both teachers allegedly had sex with students on the trip, authorities said.
Lippert was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Ghirelli was also arrested Saturday on suspicion of oral copulation and unlawful sex with a minor, authorities said.
Both were booked into Orange County Jail. Lippert was held on $20,000 bail, while Ghirelli’s was set at $50,000.
The teachers’ charges were different because some of the students were of age and some were not, authorities said.
