SAN DIEGO — IKEA is recalling five models of its VYSSA crib mattress because of a possible entrapment hazard.

The five models are VYSSA VACKERT, VYSSA VINKA, VYSSA SPELEVINK, VYSSA SLOA and VYSSA SLUMMER, according to IKEA.

The recall applies to any VYSSA mattress with a date of manufacture of May 4, 2014 or earlier. This information can be found on the label attached to the mattress cover.

VYSSA crib mattresses have been sold in the U.S. since August 2010.

The recall was issued after reports of two infants becoming entrapped between the mattress and end of the crib, though the children were removed without injuries.

IKEA is encouraging consumers to make sure their crib mattress is of the correct length by measuring for any possible gap. After removing all of the bedding, customers should verify the gap is no larger than the width of two fingers between the ends of the crib and the mattress. If the gap is larger, customers should return it to IKEA for an exchange or full refund.
