OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Ten people are without a home after their garage caught fire and caused more than $150,000 in damage Tuesday morning, police said.

The fire started just after midnight at 4135 Baycliff Way in Oceanside. It quickly spread from the garage to the rest of the 2-story apartment complex.

The blaze was put out just after 12:30 a.m., according to Oceanside fire Battalion Chief Bill Kogerman. “The fire destroyed the garage, damaged one vehicle and caused minor damage to the adjacent apartment building,” he added in a statement.

Police say at least one child was among those displaced. No one was hurt in the fire. Two adults living in the home are staying with family, while the Red Cross is assisting everyone else.

Investigators are still trying to determine what started the fire.
