NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — A pedestrian was taken to a hospital Sunday after being struck in National City by a pickup truck that left the scene, a police dispatcher said.

The crash at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Plaza Boulevard was reported to police about 6:30 p.m., the dispatcher said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, but there was no update available on that person’s condition, he said.

The suspect vehicle was described as an older white pickup truck, possibly a Nissan, with damage to its front passenger side.
