4 injured in 2-vehicle crash

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. — A two-vehicle crash in Rancho Santa Fe Wednesday left four people injured and an area roadway closed.

The vehicles collided in the 4400 block of La Orilla, east of El Camino Real, shortly after 2 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Two people in one of the vehicles were knocked unconscious in the crash, CHP
officials said.

One injured person was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.

Three others were taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, a North County fire dispatcher said. The extent of their injuries were not immediately disclosed.

Firefighters and the CHP closed La Orilla in the vicinity of the crash.

CHP officials said it was expected to reopen around 4:45 p.m.
