Man steals jeep after attacking driver

SAN DIEGO – A man suspected of carjacking in Grant Hill was arrested Thursday, according to San Diego Police Department.

The incident began around 4:15 p.m. on the 2500 block of L Street.

The suspect walked up to the driver of the Jeep Cherokee and began punching him, police said. The victim pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the suspect at least once, causing the suspect to stop punching. The suspect then pulled the victim out of the car and drove away.

Shortly after, police stopped the suspect in the stolen vehicle and arrested him.

Both the victim and the suspect were transported to local hospitals for their injuries.

An investigation is underway by robbery detectives.
