Vandals target cars in Poway

SAN DIEGO – There have been reports of a series of vandals shattering car windows with a pellet or BB gun in Poway.

Ten incidents were reported to the Poway Sheriff’s Station between Dec. 6 and 7, according to the San Diego Sherriff’s Department. The crimes occurred overnight between midnight and 5 a.m.

Damage is estimated at nearly $3,000. Nothing was taken from the vehicles.

Vandals targeted vehicles parked along the following streets:

  • 12000 Laja Drive
  • 13000 Standish Drive
  • 14000 Frame Road
  • 14000 Deerwood Street
  • 12000 Peachwood Coury

One of the victims said she saw a tan or light brown four‐door car filled with people driving suspiciously in her neighborhood the night before her car window was shattered.

Anyone who lives in the neighborhood and might have surveillance video, contact Detective Andrew Peterson at the Poway Sheriff’s Station at 858-513-2800.
