SAN DIEGO – Lifeguards and firefighters were searching a rain-flooded concrete storm channel in the Fairmont Park neighborhood of San Diego Friday after receiving reports that someone was trapped the water.

The search was taking place in the 4200 block of Home Avenue just west of Interstate 805. As of 11:30 a.m., rescuers had not located anyone in distress, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman said. Rescuers then called off the search.

The offramp from westbound Route 94 at Home Avenue was closed by lifeguards during the search.
