Bomb squad inspects suspicious device in Solana Beach

SAN DIEGO — A bomb squad responded to a suspicious-looking device in Solana Beach Friday morning.

At around 9:50 a.m., units arrived at the scene of the device located behind a dumpster near Cliff and Estrella streets, off Highway 101, officials said.

A person reported gas cans near the dumpster, according to SDSO Lt. Taft. After evaluating the scene, deputies called for the SDSO bomb squad to take over.

All units were cleared by 12:25 p.m.
