SAN DIEGO - Flames and a large plume of black smoke were seen pouring out of an abandoned El Cerrito-area warehouse Wednesday afternoon.

The two-alarm blaze inside the boarded building at 5555 University Ave started at 2:45 p.m. and was knocked down within a half hour, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

There was no immediate word on what may have sparked the blaze, but the building sustained heavy damage.

No one was hurt in the incident.
